We’re looking for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to oversee our 2nd Shift Packaging department with strong leadership skills and the motivation to work in a faced-paced environment.
This position is located in McCook, IL. We offer 401(k) plus vision, dental and medical benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.
Responsible for the effective and accurate movement and storage of materials in the warehouse during the 2nd Shift.
Supervises the packaging area with dotted-line oversite for the remaining operational areas of Stock, Order Filling and Shipping, to ensure coordination of warehouse activities.
Develops and maintains standard work instructions, ensuring timely, documented training of team members and the monitoring of employee performance against set production standards.
Ensures operational procedures are followed and any resulting issues are resolved based upon regulations and policy guidelines.
Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory guidelines, including documentation of timely employee training.
Assists in forecasting labor and resource requirements to establish work schedules.
Ensures jobs are assigned in accordance with defined procedures and result in successful completion of work.
Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment, personally making repairs or preparing work orders.
Ensures building security at end of shift.
Develops annual operating budget for assigned departments, performing analysis throughout the year to control costs.
Assists in the development of ISO procedures and the compliance with ISO requirements for the 2nd Shift.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse distribution management.
Minimum 5 years’ operational team management experience.
Thorough understanding of all distribution operations and warehouse management, including inventory management, product flow and productivity standards.
Experience working in an SAP WM system environment preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experienced with LEAN/Six Sigma, certified green-belt level is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Forklift certification is a plus.
