We’re looking for a motivated Sales Development Representative to help drive sales growth by acquiring new business.

This role is responsible for evaluating business opportunities, closing new business and executing hand-off of accounts to the proper sales channel. Our Sales Development Representatives have the flexibility of working from a home office.

  • Responsibilities: Strives to exceed sales goals by developing sales strategies to win new business.

  • Monitors competitive activity and industry trends to determine customer and market needs.

  • Assists in establishing sales targets in order to meet corporate gross margin goals.

  • Identifies new customer opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers.

  • Delivers effective presentations of Lawson’s value proposition to prospects.

  • Listens to customers’ needs and makes recommendations for product solutions.

  • Negotiates and closes sales with customer. Follows up on the sales order to ensure the customer is receiving exceptional service.

  • Ensures effective “hand-off” to the assigned sales representative takes place after the business is won.

  • Works collaboratively with internal departments to gain and grow new business.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least 5 years of experience selling in manufacturing, MRO or related industry. Experience in B2B sales or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Most possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance, as well as a clean driving record.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales goals.

  • Driven “hunter” with an entrepreneurial attitude towards prospecting, cultivating and closing new business.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to quickly establish and maintain productive relationships at all levels with customers and prospect organizations.

  • Excellent customer service skills, with a strong emphasis on ability to listen and offer effective solutions.

  • High-level presentation and communication skills.

  • Proven follow-up, negotiation and sales closing skills.

  • Ability to self-start and work independently.

  • Team player, positive and results-driven.

  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint.
