We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our packaging team in our Dallas, TX warehouse! This individual is responsible for packaging raw material into boxes, bags and master cartons to be distributed via Lawson’s distribution centers. The individual will be required to perform several functions within the packaging department. The hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities:
Meets all production and quality standards established by Lawson.
Records production throughout the day and submits production report to management at the end of each day.
Packs a variety of different types of products, e.g. bagger, delta, hand pack, stock, etc.
Reads production orders and follows instructions for each job as outlined in production order.
Verifies production order and labels are correct before packaging any job.
Creates labels for jobs to be packaged using computer program.
Ensures correct package quantity is packaged by correctly calibrating the scale for proper piece count in each box/bag. Counts the first few boxes by hand.
Matches boxes or labels with inbound product (on skids) waiting to be put on the line for packaging in one of several areas within the department.
Utilizes RF scanning tool to gather production order items for assembly
Operates material handling equipment to position and stage product through the distribution center.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with one year of experience and/or training in warehouse packaging, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Able to comprehend basic work instructions.
Good hand and eye coordination.
Able to set up and operate a variety of types of labeling and packaging equipment.
Basic computer skills.
Able to participate in continuous improvement activities such as Lean and Safety instructions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to read small print as on an RF device, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
