We’re looking for a motivated Purchase Order Expeditor responsible for assisting the purchasing management team and buyers to expedite purchase orders, improving proper network inventory flows and service levels to customers.

Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago, IL. Employees work two days in the corporate office and can work remotely the remaining three days of the workweek. We offer 401k plus vision, dental and medical benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.


  • Confirms orders with vendors; confirms vendor has received order; validates delivery dates; reports delivery issues to management. Works to resolve delivery issues.

  • Contacts vendor regarding past due orders, advises management of order delays. Works to resolve order delays to expedite delivery time.

  • Updates the sales team on the status of their customers’ orders. Contacts vendor to expedite delivery based on sales team’s needs. Resolves vendor-based issues (mis-shipments, returns, etc).

  • Updates SAP with current shipping and notes information. Reviews open lines for lead-time accuracy and delivery dates for open purchase order items.

  • Responds to customer and sales representative inquiries for stock-checks and status updates, and requests to expedite. Includes email and phone requests.

  • Works with the Logistics team and freight carriers to resolve shipping issues.

  • Assists buyers with supplier non-conformances and AP-invoice resolution (MRBR), as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 3 years’ experience in Purchasing and/or Customer Service, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate skill level in Outlook & Excel.

  • SAP experience (MRP/ERP) preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
