We are looking for a motivated Accounts Receivable Assistant responsible for applying the daily cash receipts and establishing a secondary level of performance within the accounts receivable department. They are also tasked with performing timely research and resolving customer deductions due to tax, freight, pricing, and returns.

Performs cash application.
Reconciles adjustments in daily cash. Researches and resolves customer deductions by working with the customer, sales representative and/or internal departments, regarding tax, freight, pricing, returns, discount, and credits.
Reconciles customers' accounts receivable and corresponds as needed.
Researches declined credit cards, contacting sales representative assigned to the account or the customer directly.
Responds to incoming calls from customers and sales representatives.
Corresponds with bank regarding bank errors.
Assists the Supervisor, Accounts Receivable with problem accounts.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma, plus 3 - 5 years of cash application, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
SAP experience preferred.
Background knowledge should include processing of customer checks, electronic payments, credit card payments, deduction management and customer reconciliation. This position works closely with the customer, sales representative and internal departments in a professional environment.
Knowledge of basic financial concepts to bridge understanding on how A/R transaction impacts customer accounts and company results.
Ability to solve problems and demonstrate good decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills, analytical skills, and time management skills.
Strong knowledge of Excel and Word.
